Dr. Tamara Morton is a graduate of Norfolk State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business/Entrepreneurial Studies, and from Regent University with a Master of Arts Degree in Practical Theology and a Doctorate Degree in Strategic Leadership with a concentration in Servant Leadership. She previously was a real estate paralegal for 10 years with the City of Virginia Beach City Attorney’s Office.
 

Currently, she is the Lead Pastor of St. James Missionary Church, Va. Beach, Va. which was established on December 6, 1999. She stands in ministry with her parents, Bishop Sidney Davis, and Pastor Barbara Davis, Founders. She was licensed to preach the gospel on her birthday September 24, 2004, and was ordained on June 12, 2010, by the Sharon Missionary Baptist Association. 

Dr. Morton is a Notary, Certified Life Coach, Consultant, Mentor, and TMorton Consulting, LLC owner. She provides consulting, leadership development and training, strategic and succession planning, diversity and inclusion, organizational design, marketing, coaching, mentoring, tutoring, and job-readiness skills in the church, community, and various organizations.

Dr. Morton has written many scholarly articles and in October 2021 she was a presenter at the Annual Research Roundtable Conference for Servant Leadership, hosted by Regent University School of Business and Leadership. She published her first article “The Impact of Servant Leadership on Racism in Society” in October 2022. However, the most important thing is that she loves the Lord and has a holistic approach when serving others. She resides in Chesapeake, Va., and is married to her wonderful husband, Pastor Junious “Jay” Morton, Jr. and they have 3 blessed children.
